Japanese violinist Akiko Suwanai, winner of the Tchaikovsky International Music Competition in 1990, has become one of the most beloved artists today. In the 2022-2023 season, she embarked on a tour with the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra and performed with the BBC Symphony Orchestra, Sinfonieorchester Basel, Duisburg Philharmonic, Hong Kong Symphony Orchestra, and the National Symphony Orchestra in Washington, D.C. Suwanai is frequently invited to participate in chamber music festivals worldwide, collaborating seamlessly with renowned musicians like pianist Martha Argerich and cellist István Várdai. In this performance, she will present the complete Brahms violin sonatas for the Shanghai audience.
