This edition of the CSIAF will feature 58 stage productions. World-renowned orchestras such as Vienna Philharmonic, Staatskapelle Dresden, and Mariinsky Orchestra will deliver masterful interpretations of classical repertoire. In a one-of-a-kind showcase in China, CSIAF will present highlights including performances by the Bayerische Staatsoper, Romeo and Juliet by the Stuttgart Ballet, and the festival-commissioned and co-produced revival of Pina Bausch’s Kontakthof—Echoes of '78 — a reimagining of her iconic 1978 work. And Shaanxi People’s Art Theatre will present the plays Protagonist, Starry Sky and Half a Tree, White Deer Plain, The Ordinary World, The Book of Life to Shanghai, alongside "Shanghai Originals" such as Ballet LILY by Shanghai Ballet, Blossoms Part Ⅲ, Pingtan (an art form) Shanghai Wonton, all showcasing the city’s splendor. On the stage of CSIAF, Oriental charm and global stylism complement each other.
