Ambiguous by Hong Kong Repertory Theatre
Ambiguous, written by ZHENG Guowei and directed by FANG Junjie, focuses on the lives of ordinary people in Hong Kong and explores the challenges of marriage. Through the everyday moments of two couples, the play delicately portrays the subtle cracks and inner struggles within marriage. Stay-at-home dad CHEN Zhiyong and full-time mother WANG Xia “accidentally meet” at their children’s kindergarten playground, and over time, cracks begin to form in the walls of their marriages. Despite the appearance of harmony, underlying tensions emerge. The four accomplished actors from the Hong Kong Repertory Theatre—LIU Shouzheng, ZHAO Yiyi, HUANG Huici, and ZHOU Weiqiang—vividly depict the emotional ambiguities and entanglements of their characters, reflecting the complexity and warmth within marriage.
