At the recently concluded 17th Van Cliburn International Piano Competition—one of the world’s four most prestigious piano contests—Hong Kong-born Chinese pianist Aristo Sham was awarded the Gold Medal, also winning the Carla and Kelly Thompson Audience Award, voted by over 9,000 people. He is the first Chinese pianist to claim the top prize since ZHANG Haochen in 2009. This year, Aristo brings the same passion and brilliance that led him to victory to the stage of the China Shanghai International Arts Festival, marking his Shanghai debut following his gold-medal triumph. The 29-year-old Aristo will combine remarkable insight with exceptional technique to deliver a musical feast that balances technical brilliance with emotional depth, offering audiences an unforgettable artistic experience.
