The Shaanxi Symphony Orchestra, founded in 1957, traces its origins to the Shaanxi Provincial Orchestra and the Shaanxi Philharmonic Orchestra. It is one of the four earliest established professional symphony orchestras in China. Over the past six decades, the Shaanxi Symphony Orchestra, a representative symphony orchestra in the western region, has made remarkable achievements in spreading music culture and advancing social progress. The symphonic suite Yan'an was created over the course of a year by a group of musicians led by Mr. Zhao Jiping. It aims to vigorously promote the spirit of Yan'an and inspire cadres and the masses to devote themselves to the construction of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era. This musical composition sounds a magnificent call to action.
