A cross-over experiment combining dramatic performance, live percussion, interactive multi-channel electronic music and new-media visual arts, Mirror Mind explored the multi-layered nature of human beings by rendering the reciprocal reflection of one’s inner and outer worlds with a “panacoustic” narrative approach. The Kunqu performer interacted with digital projections and his reflection in the mirror, initiating a dialogue between sound and image before breaking away from them, giving rise to a series of oscillations, distortions, metamorphoses and sublimation.
