WHEN MOUNTAINS CRY is co-created by choreographer Brigel Gjoka and XieXin Dance Theatre. Centered on the recurring imagery of arms and hands, the work unfolds through a delicate yet powerful physical language, telling a profound story of loss, growth, protection and hope. Through a ritual-inflected choreographic vocabulary, the work intertwines individual destinies with collective emotions. With gestures that continuously repeat, converge and expand, it traces the profound connections between human beings and time, memory and emotion. Within a poetic, fluid stage space, the work presents a universal humanistic concern that transcends cultural boundaries, emotional strength and the resilience of life, while its subtle yet profound dance language reflects on life and destiny.
