Entering its twelfth year, the Shanghai Youth Art Fair embraces a new vision: “Bringing art into everyday life, Turing the city into an exhibition ground.” This year's fair continues its “City Wandering” curatorial approach, taking art beyond conventional exhibition halls, and bringing it into commercial spaces, communities and neighborhoods. In doing so, it invites the public to encounter art naturally during their daily walks. Meanwhile, drawing on five years of work by the Youth Art Center in Minhang, the fair also launches an “Art Supermarket” and an “Art Licensing Supermarket”. Built around the principles of “affordable, easy to take home and easy to display”, these new platforms offer clear pricing structure and professional services to bring original artworks, art derivatives and licensed products closer to the public in an accessible and transparent way. With an increasingly open approach, the Shanghai Youth Art Fair is creating a world of art without walls.
