Disco King is a comprehensive live-music production that is a mix between a concert and musical theater. Structured in chapters around original songs by Ricky (Wang Heyong), it links personal memory, physical performance, and contemporary stage imagery. Live music, actors and dancers, lighting, VJ imagery, AI-generated visuals, and lightweight scenic elements transform the songs into watchable and interactive stage episodes, allowing real bodies and virtual images to meet and collide within the same space. The work explores a new route for original Chinese pop music to enter the theater. Its live language combines music, performance, and digital technology in a stage expression that feels youthful and carries a distinct contemporary cultural identity.
