Historical Drama Qu Yuan by Hubei Changjiang People's Art Theatre & Hubei Sanxia Performance Arts Group

Qu Yuan, having been exiled and wandering by the shores of Lake Dongting, faced immense inner turmoil. He witnessed the Chu capital's fall, its people's displacement, and the land's suffering. In this dire situation, he engaged in profound introspection. He engaged in continuous dialogues and debates with figures like the King of Chu and Zhang Yi in his heart. Through these internal conversations, he embarked on a journey to reflect on his life as a patriot who risked his life for his country, fought for his ideals, upheld purity and integrity, and remained steadfast in his pursuit of truth. He realized that the impending demise of the Chu dynasty was drawing near. With unwavering determination, he resolved not to compromise his integrity, even in the face of impending death. He refused to align himself with the corrupt or yield to oppressive forces. He sang a battle song in his final moments, lifting his ideals. He then plunged into the Miluo River, completing the magnificent anthem of a patriot that he had composed with his own life.
