In commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the birth of the musical giant Rachmaninoff, Russian artist Denis Matsuev will join forces with conductor Chen Zhengzhe and the National Symphony Orchestra of the Republic of Tatarstan to perform the complete set of Rachmaninoff's piano concertos. These works not only incorporate intricate technical demands but also present a significant challenge to a pianist's physical stamina, endurance, and mental fortitude when performed in a single concert, earning them the nickname "Everest of the Musical World". Renowned pianist Matsuev serves as the Artistic Director of the Rachmaninoff Foundation and chairs the inaugural Rachmaninoff International Music Competition, making him one of the finest interpreters of Rachmaninoff's works in contemporary times.
