Anna Netrebko was born in 1971 in Krasnodar, Russia. Throughout an illustrious career beginning in 1994, Anna Netrebko has arguably become a reigning prima donna of the 21st century, consistently distinguishing herself inside and outside the world of opera. In live performance and on numerous award-winning recordings, Netrebko’s portrayals of opera’s most iconic heroines demonstrate a remarkable range and artistic sensibility. She is the toast of season opening productions at the Teatro alla Scala in Milano and the Metropolitan Opera in New York, and the first classical music artist named to Time magazine’s annual list of the world’s 100 most influential people. In 2014, she featured as the soprano soloist at the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics.
