


Jian WANG is a Chinese cellist. He began studying the cello with his father at age four and made his concerto debut at twelve, performing Saint-Saëns's Cello Concerto with the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra. In 1985, he went to the United States for further studies at the Yale School of Music and the Juilliard School, where he studied with renowned cellist Aldo Parisot. As a soloist, he has collaborated with world-class orchestras including the New York Philharmonic, Berlin Philharmonic, and London Symphony Orchestra, as well as leading Chinese ensembles such as the China Philharmonic, NCPA Orchestra, and Shanghai Symphony Orchestra. He has also served on the jury of major international competitions, including the Tchaikovsky International Cello Competition and the Queen Elisabeth Cello Competition.
