HUANG Doudou

HUANG Doudou is a Chinese dancer and currently a member of the Party Leadership Group of the China Dancers Association. He first gained national recognition in 1995 with his performance Drum Drunk on CCTV's Spring Festival Gala, and has since appeared in numerous major state-level productions. He has collaborated with composer Tan Dun on Six Dances of the Zhou Dynasty, which he both choreographed and performed, and has served as executive director of the outdoor spectacle Zen Shaolin·Grand Music of Zen and as lead dancer in the ballet Farewell My Concubine. His artistic practice spans stage creation and cross-disciplinary exploration. Known for his passionate, fluid stage presence and distinctive inner rhythm paired with vivid imagination, his signature works—Drum Drunk, Spirit of the Terracotta Warriors, and Su Wu—demonstrate his steadily maturing craft. He has been profiled by TIME magazine, frequently appears as a judge and guest on CCTV programs, and enjoys broad recognition both domestically and internationally.
