This exhibition showcases the iconic works from the artistic careers of two contemporary female artists, Leiko Ikemura (Switzerland) and Shen Yuan (France), prompting viewers to ponder various issues related to cultural migration, memory, and female identity. Both artists are expatriates living in foreign countries. Leiko Ikemura left Japan at 21 and moved to Spain, later relocating to Switzerland and eventually settling in Germany in 1983. Shen Yuan left China in 1990 and moved to Paris with her husband, the artist Huang Yong Ping. This cross-cultural background inspires their creations and profoundly influences their artistic practices.
