Jungle Book reimagined by Akram Khan Company
Akram Khan has created this new dance theatre work based on Rudyard Kipling’s beloved classic. Reimagining the protagonist Mowgli’s journey from the perspective of climate refugees, Akram Khan and his dance company reconstruct the tale: Mowgli travels from the Indian jungle to an abandoned city, where the child of the forest continues his wild adventures on a now primitive earth. The Jungle Book: Reimagined is a visually stunning dance production, featuring original music, ten international dancers, and cutting-edge animation and visuals. The work highlights humanity’s innate need for belonging and connection with others, while also evoking a deep connection with nature.
