Gala in Shanghai by Mariinsky Ballet

The Gala of the Mariinsky Ballet brings together classic excerpts from numerous ballet masterpieces, including Les Sylphides, Le Corsaire, The Butterfly, Swan Lake, and Don Quixote. Among them, Les Sylphides, choreographed by Russian ballet master Mikhail Fokine, depicts a young poet dancing with a group of sylphs to the music of Chopin. The Butterfly is a ballet created by renowned Romantic-era dancer and choreographer Marie Taglioni. Additionally, the program features iconic pas de deux that showcase exceptional ballet technique, including the Grand Pas Classique, the Don Quixote pas de deux, and the Swan Lake pas de deux.
