From Shanghai to Paris:The Artistic Journey of Pan Yuliang
Pan Yuliang was a pioneering artist of the early 20th century, known for blending Chinese and Western painting styles. As a key figure among Chinese artists who studied in France, she significantly contributed to the development of modern Chinese art and Sino-French cultural exchange. For the first time, this exhibition narrates from the perspective of Shanghai, exploring the impact on Pan Yuliang's creative work and spiritual life which the two capital of art - Shanghai and Paris have had. It highlights her fusion of Eastern and Western styles and her splendid artistic career. Featuring nearly 100 selected artworks and documents, the exhibition takes visitors back to early 20th-century Shanghai and Paris, showcasing the journey of her rise from Shanghai to international recognition. Marking the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and France, this exhibition also serves as a platform for renewed cultural exchange between the two countries.
