Splendors of the Sun and Moon
This exhibition, themed “Splendors of the Sun and Moon” has three main themes of “Heaven, Earth, Mankind”, through the use of black and white tones, lighting and colours, it discusses the meeting between Chinese and Western culture and Philosophy. The Exhibition presents the primordial chaos of the world, the earth and all living things, and humanity’s reflection on itself, reconstructing the relationship between nature and civilization from the perspective of Eastern philosophy. Curated by artist Tong Yanrunan, the exhibition features over 60 works from near 45 artists including Huang Binhong, Zhu Dequn, and Paul Cézanne, it not only discusses the significance of Eastern philosophy to the modern day, but also attempts to rebirth the cultural connotation of art under a global context, presenting the dialogue and fusion between Eastern and Western art.
