The Art Scene｜The Generation of 1980s

TANK Shanghai will present the exhibition “The Art Scene | The Generation of 1980s” during the 2024 Shanghai International Art Festival, focusing on Chinese artists born between 1980-1990. The exhibition gathers these artists in their mid-career stage and responds to the current Chinese cultural atmosphere using each of their own perspectives, also depicting the interconnected life experiences in this time and age. Through research, nomination, selection, and invitation, the exhibition picks participating artists to present intergenerational cultural connection and exploration. This exhibition aims to reveal how this generation of artists express their unique insights and experiences under a fast-changing society.
