Don Quixote by Compañía Nacional de Danza

Founded in 1979, the Compañía Nacional de Danza, originally known as the National Classical Ballet Company, ha Víctor Ullate as its first artistic director. The company’s repertoire spans both classical and original works, blending diverse creative and performance styles that merge modern dance with contemporary ballet. The ballet Don Quixote, adapted from Cervantes' seminal novel, has been reinterpreted by José Carlos Martínez in a new production. This production imbues the protagonist with a more poetic persona while weaving in traditional Spanish culture and the quintessence of its dance heritage, culminating in a richly nationalistic theatrical spectacle.
