As one of the important sections of CSIAF,since its inception in 2014, Art Space hasconsistently followed the idea of a city for the
people, focused on the lifestyle needs of the people, continuously improved content quality, innovated performance scenarios, optimisedser vice experiences, emphasised on the international, innovative, and people-centric brand speciality. To fully unleash the powerful potential of Shanghai as an international performing arts hub and continuously amplify the spillover effects of the China Shanghai International Arts Festival, "Art Space" is committed to breaking down the "walls" of theaters and bridging the "last mile" between high art and urban life. By integrating classic, cutting-edge, cross-disciplinary, and diverse domestic and international performing arts resources, it strives to meet the public's diverse cultural and spiritual needs and their new expectations for a better life.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the "Art Space" brand. Centered around the new positioning of "creating new cultural landmarks in the city and shaping an aesthetic landscape for urban development," the "Art Space" series of performances will perforate into districts of Shanghai. By segmenting urban public spaces and optimizing the precise allocation of resources, the program will organically integrate diverse and rich forms of performances with the city's spaces. It aims to create distinctive units such as "Modern Landmarks", "Parks and Greenspaces", "Trendy Commercial Districts", "Urban Waterfronts", and "Art Education Spaces". In the future, Art Space will continue to build immersive offline performance scenarios, granting urban spaces humanistic connotations, facilitating the integration of culture, business, and tourism, further constructing the golden autumn's artistic atmosphere of "Involvement from the whole city, enjoyment for everyone", and becoming one of the best windows to demonstrate Shanghai's "soft power".
