The 22nd China Shanghai International Arts Festival achieved breakthroughs in both its parallel session and themed festival segments. Coinciding with the fifth anniversary of the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta being elevated to a national strategy, the festival further strengthened its platform function of "serving the Yangtze River Delta and radiating across China." For the first time, it included Weifang, Shandong, as a parallel session, while continuing to establish parallel sessions in Wuxi (Jiangsu), Ningbo (Zhejiang), and Anhui. This brought together five regions—Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, and Shandong—in a coordinated effort, promoting the synchronized resonance of resources between the main and parallel sessions, and empowering regional coordinated development with high-quality cultural offerings.
The themed festivals also shone brightly. In addition to launching the inaugural Shanghai International Children's Theatre Festival, the festival extended its themed festival brand beyond Shanghai for the first time, joining hands with the Nanxun District People's Government of Huzhou Municipality to create the inaugural Nanxun International Children Arts Festival. These newly debuted themed festivals, together with enduring classics such as the Shanghai International Magic Festival and the Shanghai International Puppet Festival, complemented each other, enhanced the festival's capacity for public cultural services, and created a unique landscape that served audiences nationwide during this year's festival.
