Beijing People's Art Theatre Performance Series

After 12 years, the Beijing People's Art Theatre is once again holding a large-scale residency in Shanghai. From October to November, five major productions—Tea House, The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial, Sunrise, Poet Du Fu, and Beneath the Red Banner—will come together at the 23rd China Shanghai International Arts Festival. This gathering of veteran, mid-career, and young artists presents the distinctive stage style of the Beijing People’s Art Theatre, offering Shanghai audiences a rich theatrical experience steeped in Beijing’s cultural essence. These productions explore various aspects of China’s image and are crafted to tell China’s stories with deep emotional and artistic engagement. During the residency, a variety of related activities, including art education programs and seminars, will foster theatrical and cultural exchange.
